28th September, Saturday - home ward bound

Unfortunately the holiday has come to an end. We had a wonderful family holiday so thanks to all for making it so special. The hotel was excellent and they organised a basic breakfast to get us going. 

It's another day of travel. Transport arrived at 5.15, right on time. An hour and 15min later and we checked in at the Mauritius International airport and cruised through checkin. Then some last minute duty free shopping - local Green Island rum, some chocolate and perfume. New wing of the airport was well laid out and not crowded.

Flight was smooth with a breakfast and snack before landing in JHB. Bags collected and checked in to Durban. Flight was good but cloudy so no visibility. Last week it was freezing in Jhb, but a warm 26 today. Our transport took us home and we celebrated Heritage day with a braai and watching rugby, Argentina against Boks at Mbombela. We won 48/7 and so won the Rugby Champions. What a way to end the holiday. Well done Boks and Eben for attaining most capped Bok with his 128th game.

27th September, Friday - last day

We continued our hunt for cowries so far we've found 99! but now my back hurts 😂

Me and mom kayaked and saw a turtle. 

We lay on sun loungers and tried to get a last little tan ☀️

We watched the sun set ✨☀️ and had some sun downers on the beach. 

And had a fancy dinner for Nunu and Papa's wedding anniversary where I learnt how to fold a dancing chicken with napkins. (a very useful skill) 

I can't believe the week is over. What an amazing holiday! 

26th September, Thursday - snorkelling

Today's blogger is Rowan.

Last night's entertainment was a very nice Mauritian duet. 

Second to last day of our amazing holiday on the island of Mauritius. Waking up early to have a delicious buffet breakfast as usual.

From there we walked across to the beach, where dad and I pedal boated while we had a little shower of rain. Then onto a glass bottom boat which took us to an area where we all snorkelled amongst coral and saw some amazing fish. 

Finished off coming back to our hotel "Coin de Mire Attitude" and having a lie down before a few drinks and supper. Very nice week, One amazing aspect of the hotel is there is WiFi available and drinks served on the beach.
